Privacy

What this site does with your data: as little as possible, and nothing without your consent.

Browsing the site

Browsing requires no account and no cookie. No advertising, no third-party tracker.

The web server keeps a technical log of requests (IP address, page requested, date) for 14 days, for security and diagnosis (legitimate interest, GDPR article 6.1.f). Addresses carrying a sign-in token are not logged in full.

Your IP address is also used, hashed and for one hour at most, to limit the number of reports, calculations and sign-ins sent from a same connection.

Audience measurement

The pages of the site are counted with Umami, an open-source tool hosted on the same server as the site, not by a third party. It sets no cookie and does not record your IP address.

A page view is recorded with its address, without its parameters or what follows the # sign, its title, the site you came from, the browser, the operating system, the device type, the screen size, the browser language, and the country, region and city derived from the IP address. To count visitors, Umami combines the IP address and the browser with a salt renewed every month into a hash: page views from the same connection within a month are linked to one another, never to a person.

The questionnaire page of the comparison tool does not load this tool: your answers never reach it. These statistics only serve to know which pages are read; nothing is shared or sold.

Description of the site for AI assistants

The site loads a script from Plugster (plugster.ai), a service that describes its pages to artificial intelligence assistants: an llms.txt file and a text version of each page. Plugster is hosted by OVHcloud, in France.

To download this script, your browser contacts plugster.ai, which then receives, like any web server, your IP address, your browser and the address of the site, not that of the page. The script sets no cookie, does not read what follows the # sign and sends nothing you type.

The questionnaire page of the comparison tool does not load it: your answers never reach it.

The comparison tool

Your answers are political opinions, sensitive data under GDPR article 9. They stay in your browser (local storage), which you can clear at any time from the comparison page. To compute the result, they are sent to the server, which computes it and forgets them at once: they are neither recorded, nor logged, nor linked to an account.

A result’s share link holds your answers after the # sign, a part of the address the browser never sends to the server. Only share it if you wish.

Reports

A report records the page concerned, your description and any link you give, with no name and no email. It is kept until it is handled, then for one year.

Account and alerts (optional)

An account lets you find what you follow on several devices and receive alerts. It holds only your email address, what you follow and your alerts, with the date of your consent. You sign in through a link sent to that address, which proves it is yours.

Legal basis: your consent (article 6.1.a). From the My account page, you can at any time download your data (portability), delete an alert, or delete the account and everything attached to it. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

A session cookie (strictly necessary, no consent required) keeps you signed in for 30 days at most.

Hosting and processors

  • OVHcloud (France) hosts the site, the database and its encrypted backups.
  • Resend (United States, standard contractual clauses) sends the sign-in and alert emails; it receives only your address and the content of the message.

Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. The account lets you exercise them directly; otherwise, write to the data controller named in the legal notice. You may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
